New Horizons of Economic Relations

As we reach the end of the third term of the IBCCIM's new period, which has coincided with upgrading the bilateral political relations from Chargé d'affaires to Ambassadorship; arrival of the new head of the UK Embassy's Commercial and Economic Section, which is a new blood to the veins of our economic ties; and a marked improvement in the bilateral economic relations comparing to the previous years - all promise far better prospects in the coming year.

This promise can be reiterated by this fact that the IBCCIM and BICC, in Tehran and London, of which co-operation holds the key to an ever prosperous economic ties, have been busy setting up several trade and investment missions, together with the respective embassies, as well as other related authorities. It means that while the IBCCIM is planning three trade and investment missions in the fields of tiles and ceramics, IT and hi-tech, food industries, and also holding a seminar named “Business with UK” in Tehran, attended by high-ranking British economic officials, in the first half of the coming year, the BICC in London is dispatching a trade and investment mission to Iran as well. There will also be another large British delegation in Tehran to participate in the Oil and Gas Exhibition here early in the next year, not to mention the Birmingham's chamber of commerce and other British missions, expected in the next year. I wish a very successful year for our readers, memebrs of the both chambers of commerce, as well as businesspersons from both countries.
