|
|
The delegation accompanying British former Chief Secretary to the Treasury, long-standing Member of Parliament and one of UK well- Known lawyers recently elected as the president of British- Iran Chamber of Commerce, Lord Lamont, comprised the representatives of senior British companies including BP, BG, Shell, Alperton, BAT, Rinotinto.... Having revolved around the promotion of the Chamber's relations and thus the two countries, as well as expression of gratitude towards the close collaboration of the two Chambers since the establishment of IBCCIM and BICC, the meeting resulted in general consensus of opinion on at least eleven issues, the most eminent of which was an agreement to be signed on cooperation and provision of facilities, as well as conditions for Iranian and British companies for investment, and production in third countries especially Iran's neighboring states in general and reconstruction of Iraq in particular. Taking into consideration the geo-politic and geo-economic status of Iran at regional level, as the outcome of signing and implementation of such agreement leading to flourishing of the two countries' economies, provision of welfare and restoration of peace, tranquility and security in the region, the members of IBCCIM and BICC expect the two Chambers exert every effort rendering assistance to pertinent Iranian and British companies to establish due ties and participate in joint venture, as well as production in Iran and neighboring states, The event shall certainly go down in history, marking a turning point in regional economic transformations.
