Iran Chamber News Iran Chamber Executive Board Election Finally after two months of conflict between Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines and the Supreme Supervisory Council of the ICCIM, the election of new Executive Board of Delegate members of the ICCIM was held on the 28th of Mordad1382 (19.08.03). The voting was carried out by secret ballot as per the rules of the organization in a democratic manner. According to the election results, Messers Alinaghi Khamoushi received 95 votes, Alahedin Mir Mohammad Sadeghi received 95 votes, Mohammad Bagher Rejal received 94 votes, Mojtaba Khosro Taj gained 91 votes, Ebrahim Jamili, President of the Zanjan Chamber, gained 91 votes, Mohammad Reza Behzadian managed 89 votes and Masood Daneshmand received 81 votes. All the above were all duly elected and took up their positions as follows: 1- H. E. Eng. Alinaghi Khamoushi - President 2- Mr. Alahedin Mir Mohammad Sadeghi - First Deputy President 3- H. E. Mr. Mojtaba Khosrow Taj – Second Deputy President 4- Dr. Mohammad Bagher Rejal – Board Member 5- Eng. Mohammad Reza Behzadian – Board Member 6- Mr. Masood Daneshmand – Treasurer 7- Mr. Ebrahim Jamili – Secretary It is noteworthy that among candidates who were not elected were Messers. Ebrahim Ranjbaran, President of Esfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines, and Rasool Ganji who is reputed to individually hold sway over 1% of the country’s total economy. ICCIM President and Personnel Gathering Messers Alinaghi Khamoushi and Alahedin Mir Mohammad Sadeghi, who were elected as President and First Deputy President of the ICCIM Executive Board, presided at a gathering held at 11:00 a.m. on the 29th of Mordad 1382 (20.08.03), to meet and talk to ICCIM personnel. Mr. Mir Mohammad Sadeghi gave a welcoming speech in which he stated his heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the ICCIM for the efficient manner in which they had fulfilled their duties during the election period. He also agreed to raise the remuneration and fringe benefits of Chamber employees. He further stated that some new welfare programs, such as the formation of a Personnel Welfare Fund, a program in coordination with Bank Maskan (Housing Bank) to provide housing facilities, and new transportation provisions, were all in the process of being implemented. IBCCIM NewsThe first executive session of the newly elected Executive Board elected at The ordinary Annual General Assembly The first meeting of the new Executive Board of the Chamber was held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday the 4th of Mordad 1382 (26.07.03), which meeting was attended by all board members. The board’s new configuration is slightly different from the previous board, and was voted into being by the newly elected members as their first order of business. The Executive Board for the Fourth Biennial Term of the IBCCIM is as follows: · Mr. Alinaghi Khamoushi, President · Dr. Amir Houshang Amini, Deputy President and Secretary General · Eng. Behrooz Korehband Boushehri, Deputy President · Mr. Ali Kolahdooz Esfehani, Treasurer · Ms. Zahra Naghavi, Board Member · Dr. Naser Homapour, Board Member · Mr. Alireza Ghodstinat, Board Member · Ms. Lila Marzabadi, Substitute Board Member · Mr. Jafar Zarebini, Substitute Board Member After the five main positions of the executive committee were chosen and filled by four members of the committee, the results were announced to the general membership. Following this the membership committee was formed to check and handle current and new memberships and the general membership were invited to join and set up various other committees on a voluntary basis. Membership CommitteeFollowing the formation of the Executive Board, the IBCCIM Membership Committee was chosen by the Board. As the only executive branch of the Chamber, Dr. Amir Houshang Amini, Eng. Behrooz Boushehri, and Eng. Zahra Naghavi held their first meeting. At this meeting membership applications received from the Chamber Secretariat were studied for approval or denial. Chamber support for the ITMA Exhibition in Birmingham The Irano-British Chamber of Commerce is providing various services to assist members of the various Iranian Chambers of Commerce and businessmen to enable them to attend the International Textile Machinery exhibition which is to be held in Birmingham UK from the 22nd till the 29th October this year. These services include arranging for letters of invitation, collection of entrance cards, and obtaining entry visas through close coordination with the ITMA organization and the Visa Section of the British Embassy in Tehran. Most of the over 350 applicants are members of the Textile Association.
